About the ACC

Our Mission

Why have human beings been singing, dancing, and drawing since ancient times?
Because this so-called creativity is a human instinct, along with eating, sleeping, and mating.
Not only is it necessary to maintain life, creativity or art also develops human beings.
However, we are not very familiar with the "effects" of the arts. By exploring the arts, one learns how to fight with one's own ego and how to deepen oneself; it is an important, necessary education that a human being should receive in the process of growing up.
Unfortunately, that fact is not well recognized in the current societies of either the U.S. or Japan.
But we believe that many social problems, such as the decaying of people's minds, the increase of juvenile crime, more vicious crimes, etc., are partly rooted in this lack of respect for the arts.

Dance Project SEQUENCE, Inc. aims to increase the general public's understanding of the arts through supporting the performing arts. Taking advantage of our location in New York City, we also serve as a cultural bridge between the U.S. and Japan through their common language, the performing arts. Dance Project SEQUENCE, Inc. devotes itself to grassroots activities through the performing arts, beyond the barriers of language, race, and cultural differences. Our goal is to establish a truly affluent, healthy future on the earth.

ダンス・プロジェクト・シークエンスは、日本人によって1992年創立、1996年に米国政府に認可された非営利団体です。 芸術、特に舞踊、演劇といったパフォーミングアーツに触れる機会を、様々な形でより多く提供する企画を実施して、人々の芸術への理解を深めることを目指しています。
ニューヨークに本拠を置き、パフォーミングアーツという世界共通言語を通じて、言語、人種、文化の壁を超えて人と人の心を繋ぐ草の根活動を促進し、日本とアメリカの、そして一般と芸術の掛け橋となるよう努めています。
