Rennie Harris, Hip-Hop Choreographer

I wonder if American readers of this magazine are aware that hip-hop is today very popular in Japan. Back-up dancers for Japanese pop singers often perform hip-hop or hip-hop mixed with jazz dance. Such appearances on TV music programs make hip-hop even more popular among youngsters. Here in America, however, hip-hop is developing in a completely different direction. The person who is leading that movement is choreographer Rennie Harris.
